Manitou Mounds Interpretive Centre
Financing the Dream
The initial capital for development of the site and infrastructure for the Manitou Mounds Interpretive Centre has been generated through agreements with both the Canadian and Ontario Governments. The financing of the centre is the shared responsibility of Rainy River First Nations, Ontario, & Canada. To facilitate this, an organization called the Manitou Mounds Historical Foundation has been established. The mandate of this organization is firstly, to ensure that the cultural and education aspects set forth in the objectives of the Interpretive Centre are provided for and secondarily, it is charged with the responsibility of raising sufficient funds to ensure that the interpretive components of the centre are provided for. In this regard, The Manitou Mounds Historical Foundation is actively soliciting funding from private and public sources to finance these components.
As such, the Manitou Mounds Historical Foundation is seeking the support of corporate partners who also value the memory of this sacred place and want to preserve the culture and history of the Ojibway people. Corporate partnership packages have been developed to allow corporations, companies and organizations of any size to participate at their level of comfort. In return for their participation, sponsor benefit packages have been developed commensurate with the level of participation. Details of these various packages follow.
