Moccassin Trail Tour Independent a la Carte

Along this 14 day tour there are many sites and attractions along the picturesque ride throughout Manitoba and Ontario.

DAY 1

Arrive into the capital of Manitoba, Winnipeg pick up your rental car for your road trip. Overnight in Winnipeg.

DAY 2

Travel onto Kenora to take a 2.5 cruise on the M.S Kenora Cruise Ship of the famed Lake of the Woods. Explore Kenora. Overnight in Kenora on the Lake of the Woods.

DAY 3

Journey back in time to Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung designated as one of Canada’s National Historical sites in 1970. Featuring seven galleries and exhibits, displaying the last 10,000 years of aboriginal history. Overnight in Tipi at the Kay Nah Chi Wah Nung site.

DAY 4

Travel along to Queticao Provincial park known as North Americas best site for wilderness canoeing. Onto Thunder Bay, located on the worlds largest freshwater lakes. Travel to Fort William Historical Park where from the last 17th Century a depiction and re-inactment of the canoe route of the voyageurs and fur traders. Explore the inner harbour of Thunder Bay by a vessel cruise. Overnight in Thunder Bay.

DAY 5-6

Travel to Sault Ste. Marie located at the heart of the Great Lakes bordering Michigan. Visit Agawa Indian Crafts and the Indian carver with a collection of North American Native Art and crafts. Sault Ste. Marie is home to the Agawa Canyon Train Tour. A one day wilderness train tour enjoy superb scenery while taking an old-fashioned train ride. Photograph the many waterfalls and rocky cliffs. Overnight in Sault Ste. Marie.

DAY 7

Enjoy the Sault Locks the world’s busiest locks to aboard a Lock Tours Canada Boat Cruise that forms the last of 16 water steps in the St. Lawrence Seaway system. Travel to Manitoulin Island the worlds largest freshwater Island. Overnight on Manitoulin Island.

DAY 8-9

Experience Historic Wikwemikong unceded Indian reserve, one of Canada’s largest First Nation communities. Observe a live theatre production by the award-winning Debajehmujig theatre groups comprised of local aboriginal actors. Visit many historic buildings and museums on Mantioulin Island. Visit the worlds largest tee-pees (accommodates 100) and the new state of the art Ojibwe Cultural Foundation and Museum. Overnight on Manitoulin Island.

DAY 10

Depart for Tobermory Ferry across Georgian Bay to Bruce Peninsula that is part of the Niagara escarpment. Hike the world famous Bruce trail. The deep crystal clear water is a Mecca for scuba divers wanting to explore the many shipwrecks in Fathom Five National Marine Park. Visitors can also enjoy a cruise on one of the glass bottom tour boats. Overnight at a tee-pee campground on Tobermory.

DAY 11-12-13

This region of Ontario has many sites and attractions including, Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, Huronia Museum & Indian village, Chiefs wood National Historical site, Woodland Cultural Centre and Kanata village. These historic sites provide in sight into the past of traditional ways of the life of aboriginal people in Ontario. You can also tour sweet grass gardens a native plant nursery, Her Majesty’s Royal chapel of the Mohawks 8 stained glass windows, Overnight in Six Nations.

DAY 14

Depart Six Nations and drive to Toronto t conclude your trip around Ontario and return your rental vehicle to Toronto Airport.
